McDonald Mobile Homes, LLC was established in 1965 by Marvin H. McDonald, a family owned and operated business in Jasper; it is the oldest active mobile home dealer in the state of Texas. Mr. McDonald started his company by purchasing mobile homes damaged by the storm in Louisiana, refurbishing them, and selling them in Texas. As business began to grow, Mr. McDonald would purchase one new mobile home from Skyline Homes in Bossier City, Louisiana, sell it and buy another one. McDonald’s also started purchasing and selling additional lines of manufactured houses, including Champion Homes, out of Buffalo, Texas and Arlington Homes out of Fort Worth, Texas. In 1976 McDonald Mobile Homes, LLC opened a business location on highway 190 in Jasper. In 1984 Todd McDonald, Marvin’s son joined the company after graduation.  Since that time, McDonald’s has expanded locations including a lot on highway 96 in Jasper, in 2007 and in 2015 purchased Twin Lakes Manufactured Housing, making the family business exclusive to the area.

Marvin McDonald also bought out companies that were going out of business as well as a parts company and sold mobile home parts to consumers. The company purchased several hundred lots of used homes from CIT and GE and other finance companies and sold them wholesale. During slow economic times, McDonald’s refurbished mobile homes for retail and financed them in house due to lack of financing available. In the 1990’s we had a franchise of Forest River Travel Trailers. McDonald’s also currently sales used cars and travel trailers.

In 2005, after Hurricane Rita, McDonald Mobile Homes, LLC delivered over 3900 temporary housing units over the Golden Triangle. In 2008 the company worked with Deep East Texas Council of Government providing mobile homes as well as site built homes in the recovery that followed Hurricane Ike.

Marvin McDonald has been a First National Bank of Jasper board member for over 35 years and his son, Todd, has been a board member for over 6 years. First National Bank is a local bank with two branch offices in Woodville, Texas and Buna, Texas.

McDonald Mobile Homes, LLC has had many different business enterprises over the years and through them all, the family has been able to stay local and continue to contribute to the community that has continued to support them.

Todd McDonald is the President of McDonald’s Mobile Homes, LLC, with two locations in Jasper, TX. McDonald’s was founded in 1965 by Marvin McDonald and is the longest active mobile home dealership in Texas. Adding to the business, in 2015, McDonald’s purchased another local dealership, making the family business exclusive to the area. Todd was born into and has worked every aspect of the family business. He started early hauling blocks for set ups until he was old enough to pull the houses. Through the years, Todd has worked with several different manufacturers and finance companies. During slow economic times, the family business has refurbished used mobile homes for retail and even financed them in house when it was impossible to get them financed. The business has also reached highs with emergency housing contracts placing over 3800 temporary housing units over the Golden Triangle after Hurricane Rita. Todd has worked with Deep East Texas Council of Government providing mobile homes as well as site built homes in the recovery after Hurricane Ike. Todd has served as a board member of the First National Bank of Jasper for five years alongside his father, who has served for thirty-five years. There have been many ventures through the years of business at McDonald’s but Todd has continued to stay local, serve his community, and maintain his active membership at his church.
